Dental Implant Restoration

Dental Implant Restorations: What are your options?

Dental implants are a revolutionary solution to missing teeth, as they feel and function just like your natural teeth. In fact, dental implant problems are quite rare, as the overall success rate of this missing tooth replacement method is as high as 99 percent.

If you have missing teeth or are experiencing a dental implant failure, we welcome you to our practice. Thanks to today’s technology and our dentists’ exceptional expertise, we have treatment options, and we would be happy to discuss them with you. More than anything, we want to restore your smile to full health and beauty.

What will the replacement process be like?

If the dental crown attached to your implant has become cracked or damaged, Dr. Quiggins or Dr. Mazhari can replace or repair it without needing to address the actual titanium post. Simply schedule an examination with us. If you have the part that has fallen off, please bring it with you. If the entire crown has not fallen off, we can examine what is left and determine if we can repair the crack or chip without actually removing the crown.

At Bluebell Family Dental, we view this as the best-case scenario since the restoration treatment is quick and minimally invasive. We’ll be able to let you know if we can restore it using bonding material or if we would need to replace the crown. If the crown does need to be replaced, will create a new one that we will carefully attach to the abutment that is secured to your implant.

Does Bluebell Family Dental handle all types implant restorations?

We conduct initial examinations to identify the problem and how extensive it is, and we will determine the density of your jawbone with x-rays. Once the evaluation is complete, we will let you know if we can assist you or if you need to be referred to a specialist. At Bluebell Family Dental, our goal is your complete oral health, ensuring that you have access to the procedures you need.

Implant Failure: What does this mean?

If your actual implant has failed, you will need to see a specialist to have it treated. The amazing fact that our bodies are able to coexist with both native and foreign materials significantly expands our treatment options. Dental implants are made of titanium, because this artificial material fuses with bone so well that it’s almost impossible to remove. There are those extremely rare times when the bio-compatibility of titanium does not prove successful, and the implant fails to fully integrate with the jawbone. While dental implants are traditionally extremely successful tooth-replacement procedures, failure is possible.

Why has my implant failed?

Some of the reasons for dental implant failure are:

  • Infection
  • Bone loss
  • Dental trauma
  • Lack integration with jawbone
